About Polymer

Thermoplastic Styrenic Elastomer (TPS) is a family of soft, rubber-like materials based on styrenic block copolymers (e.g., SBS, SEBS). TPS combines the elasticity of rubber with the ease of thermoplastic processing. These materials are flexible, skin-friendly, easy to mold, and recyclable, making them popular for consumer products, packaging, tools, and automotive components.Thermoplastic Styrenic Elastomer (TPS) is a family of soft, rubber-like materials based on styrenic block copolymers (e.g., SBS, SEBS). USAGE

• Consumer products: Tool handles, toothbrush grips, remote control housings, phone cases, soft keys, and ergonomic designs.
• Automotive: Seals, protective trims, interior soft
• touch parts, dust covers.
• Medical and hygiene products: Skin
• contact components, flexible tubes, cuffs, and packaging elements (depending on certifications).
• Packaging: Soft caps, closures, openers, and sealing elements for cosmetics, food, and technical products.
• Sporting and children’s equipment: Safety pads, soft accessories, handles, toys, and cushioned components.

ADVANTAGES

• Soft and flexible material: TPS offers a rubbery feel with elastic properties similar to natural rubber, available in various hardness levels.
• Easy to process: It can be injection molded, extruded, or blow
• molded like any other thermoplastic—without the need for vulcanization.
• Pleasant touch and good grip: The soft surface makes it ideal for items that come into contact with skin or require enhanced grip.
• Good UV and weather resistance (especially SEBS
• based): Suitable for outdoor use without rapid degradation.
• Overmolding capability: Can be combined with other plastics (e.g., PP, ABS) for soft
• touch, dual
• material applications.

WEAKNESSES

• Limited heat resistance: TPS is generally not suitable for prolonged exposure to temperatures above 80–100 °C.
• Moderate chemical resistance: Some versions (especially SBS) are sensitive to oils, fuels, and solvents; SEBS offers better stability.
• Not suitable for high
• load mechanical applications: Due to its low stiffness and strength, TPS is not recommended for structural parts.
